Alexandre Silva de Assis (Rio de Janeiro, December 25, 1969), better known as Xande de Pilares, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and actor. He became famous for participating in Grupo Revelação, which he was part of between 1991 and 2014. On October 28, 2014 Xande released his first solo album through Universal Music. The album entitled “Perseverança” has 14 tracks, with songs composed by the singer himself and by names like Serginho Meriti and Arlindo Cruz. "Feliz da vida with this new phase", the singer explains that the song that opens names the disc and portrays a little of its history. He has written several Sambas Enredo for Escolas de Samba (Schools of Samba) competing in Rio’s Carnaval Parade. In August 2023 Xande released an album with covers of Caetano Veloso named “Xande Canta Caetano” painted with Xander’s pagode tinges.
