Slayyyter (born Catherine Grace Garner on September 17, 1996, in Kirkwood, Missouri) is an American singer and songwriter known for her work in pop and hyperpop, often incorporating aesthetics inspired by late 1990s and early 2000s popular culture. She attended the University of Missouri for one year before leaving to pursue a music career full-time. She began releasing lo-fi, 1980s-inspired material on SoundCloud under the name Slater before adopting the name Slayyyter in 2018. That year, she released her debut single "BFF", a collaboration with Ayesha Erotica. In February 2019, she issued the single "Mine", which gained attention on social media and reached number 38 on the U.S. iTunes pop chart within 24 hours of release. During the summer of 2019, she embarked on her first headlining concert run, titled "The Mini Tour", performing in cities including New York City and St. Louis.
