Cleef is a São Paulo-based heavy/doom metal band formed in 2017, known for their fusion of 70s-inspired heavy music with a modern twist. Their sound blends soaring, experimental guitar work, pummeling bass lines, jazzy drum grooves, and dramatic, emotive vocals, creating a sonic experience that’s both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Founded by guitarist and lead vocalist Jimmy Olden and drummer Leonardo Orlando, Cleef was born out of the ashes of Sonic Dash, an earlier project the duo sought to revive. As their sound evolved, the band took on a life of its own, prompting a name change to Cleef, inspired by the ultimate villain, Lee Van Cleef. The initial lineup featured Jimmy, Leonardo, and bassist/vocalist Guilherme Miranda. Together, they released a handful of tracks between 2018 and 2019, including their live-inspired debut EP, Live by Disgrace.
